Biography

Leo Van Broeck is currently the Flemish Government Architect, acting as an advisor to the entire Flemish Government to promote the architectural quality of the built environment and realization of buildings, public space, landscape and infrastructure. He is a civil engineer and architect and cofounder of Bogdan & Van Broeck, a Brussels architecture office with a strong focus on research that distinguishes itself through active social engagement. Leo Van Broeck teaches architectural and urban design and has been involved as a guest tutor in various architectural programs and public organisations. He established Stad en Architectuur, the non-profit organisation gathering stakeholders from every section of the relevant professional world – policy-makers, designers, university course and researchers – that is unique in Flanders.
