Juulia Kauste

Biography

Juulia Kauste is an independent expert advising architects and designers, with a background in sociology of art and culture, urban studies and art history. She has initiated and curated several programs, public events and also exhibitions at international biennale events. She has led organizations like the Finnish Cultural Institute in NY and the Museum of Finnish Architecture in Helsinki. She taught and published on urban sociology, multiculturalism, sustainability, and the history and theory of design and architecture. She has wide experience in serving as a member in juries, such as the European Urban Public Space Prize and the European Contemporary Architecture Mies van der Rohe Award, and advisory boards in her field of expertise both nationally and internationally.
